INSP: LDR NATIONAL ANTHEM

TELL ME I'M YOUR NATIONAL ANTHEM

Can we all just take a minute to bask in the glory that is the National Anthem video clip released within the last week by the Lana Del Rey (she get's a THE before her name because she is amazing and her name is practically a title for how amazing and iconic and beautiful and stunning she is and only she can put her hair in a quiff and channel Jackie O and look this amazing and pull of an Instagram border video and not seem pretentious. I love you LDR)

(MY) STYLE: SEEING RED

As of late, I feel like I have forgotten how to wear the colour red, which is odd since it is almost a wardrobe staple in any wardrobe. Having recently just purchased the OPI, Color So Hot It Berns nail polish, I honestly no long know how to wear the colour without looking either a.) the same as everybody else b.) kind of boring. Don't get me wrong red heels, red lipstick (which is all I have been wearing lately because to be honest nothing suits me more), red nail polish, a red cardigan, anything red is automatically a saviour when it comes to bringing about life and colour into any outfit in the most stylish way possible, but I just think that as trends develop with so many different styles and things to be tried and tested, for myself, red has become a bit dull. I feel like red, despite it's brightness and it's symbolism, has become such a safe colour in the fashion world. What with neon brights and colour blocking and prints and the endless array of nail art at the moment, equally just as bright shades of orange, yellows, greens and blues have made red seem like the veteran of the colour family. In saying all of this, it is a colour to be reckoned with. As the veteran of the colour family, nothing will beat this colour and while trends will come and go Marilyn Monroe and her red lipstick will stand all the tests of time, so fuck it I am going to paint my nails red and stop with this nonsense rambling. Red, I am sorry I ever forgot you.

YES OR NO POST: COLOUR FEELS

The cold weather is making me very edgy, and I don't mean in the way you wear black on black on black with a leather jacket and black leather boots and a razor sharp bob (although that is perfect for the weather), but literally on edge because everything is so gloomy and my state of mind is just not in the mood. I am craving colour and and excitement and I have so far, in a complete state of reckless abandon or random abandon who knows, cut off most of my hair into an assymetrical long bob, and I am thinking that the next step may be to drastically colour it.

What do you think (ps. i have already bought some Nordic Blonde hair lightener and some purple hair dye and have already photoshopped my hair to blonde and purple HA HA but so far they are just sitting pretty on my dresser while I contemplate some more)

I just feel like it will wake me up a little from this cold little winter fog that I am currently in, I have also wanted to colour it intensely for a while but asian hair is a bitch to bleach, ya'know.
