(via Pantone Color Finder)
As of late, I feel like I have forgotten how to wear the colour red, which is odd since it is almost a wardrobe staple in any wardrobe. Having recently just purchased the OPI, Color So Hot It Berns nail polish, I honestly no long know how to wear the colour without looking either a.) the same as everybody else b.) kind of boring. Don't get me wrong red heels, red lipstick (which is all I have been wearing lately because to be honest nothing suits me more), red nail polish, a red cardigan, anything red is automatically a saviour when it comes to bringing about life and colour into any outfit in the most stylish way possible, but I just think that as trends develop with so many different styles and things to be tried and tested, for myself, red has become a bit dull. I feel like red, despite it's brightness and it's symbolism, has become such a safe colour in the fashion world. What with neon brights and colour blocking and prints and the endless array of nail art at the moment, equally just as bright shades of orange, yellows, greens and blues have made red seem like the veteran of the colour family. In saying all of this, it is a colour to be reckoned with. As the veteran of the colour family, nothing will beat this colour and while trends will come and go Marilyn Monroe and her red lipstick will stand all the tests of time, so fuck it I am going to paint my nails red and stop with this nonsense rambling. Red, I am sorry I ever forgot you.
